Prioritizing for your success story.
12 Weeks and done.

“I would do X if I had more time.”

We all know you would excel at your ideal career, and you’re certain you could complete the certificate or degree program, but you believe you lack the time. The truth is, we allow time to rule us. Some time-consuming activities are out of your control, such as work, family obligations, or buying groceries and of course Holidays. It’s also natural to want to simply unwind after completing these tasks.

“Just one more episode first.”

“Maybe if I wake up early enough.”

However, you must stay vigilant against unnecessary distractions competing for your attention. With an infinite amount of media at your fingertips and opportunities for social gatherings, it can be tempting to place your dream job on the back burner. Unfortunately, these events all add up quickly. You may check your calendar wondering where the past three months, or even three years, have disappeared.

Your dream will never come to fruition unless you set it into motion. All of the ability, knowledge, and natural talent will be meaningless unless you act on your determination. Why not change that now? Prioritize your new career and plan a path to reach it. You may forget the movie you saw last year, but a rewarding career change can benefit you for life. Doing, rather than dreaming, is what sets apart successful professionals. If you are serious about reaching your goals, our staff at Illinois Health Careers are here to assist you. Submit our Request Information form or call us today to discuss your plan. We’ll be waiting—but we hope that you don’t.

Here is what I found out:

  • Once I watch the first episode of a Netflix show, I binge watch the entire series.
  • I’m a social media junkie.
  • I’m easily distracted. I can turn buying a pair of sneakers into a six-hour shopping excursion.
  • I don’t know how to say no. If someone asks me to do something for them, I automatically say yes. I’m doing someone else’s to-do list instead of mine.
  • My boss makes me think I am irreplaceable. I’m the one he asks to stay late or “just do this little extra over the weekend.” Unfortunately, he pays me a salary that doesn’t reflect being “irreplaceable.”
  • So what did I do? I decided there were things I was doing that had negative effects on my long-term quality of life. I made a not-to-do list.

NOT-TO-DO LIST:

  • No more new series. I’ll just keep up with the current one I love and watch it weekly.
  • One hour of social media. Seriously, I can catch up in an hour.
  • Say no when I have homework. Deciding my future is more important.

TO-DO LIST:

  • Contact our Admissions team at Illinois Health Careers
  • Fill out your registration forms
  • Start your career path.

Seriously you can be on the road to a new career in 10 weeks – what do you have to lose!!
